The Indigenous Prosperity Foundation (IPF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer M. Sloan, Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Stakeholder Engagement at Mastercard Canada, to its esteemed Board of Directors.
With a distinguished career spanning public service, diplomacy, and private sector leadership, Jennifer brings a wealth of expertise in governance, government relations, media, and stakeholder management to the IPF Board. Her diverse background and extensive board service at organizations such as the Canadian American Business Council and Music Canada underscore her commitment to driving positive change and empowerment for underserved communities.
"I am deeply honored to join the Board of the Indigenous Prosperity Foundation," said Jennifer. "Having dedicated my career to advocating for social impact and empowerment, I am excited to leverage my experience to support Indigenous entrepreneurs and communities across Canada."
Throughout her career, Jennifer has held pivotal roles at notable organizations, including Target Canada and VALE (Inco) Ltd. Her tenure as the Director of Communications for a Cabinet Minister who held Industry, Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance portfolios and later as the Consul at the Canadian Consulate General in New York City equipped her with invaluable insights into fostering collaboration and driving impactful change.
Jennifer's advocacy for social impact is evident through her leadership in spearheading the development of Mastercard Changeworks™, an innovative initiative focused on harnessing technology and data to create positive change, particularly in supporting Indigenous and Immigrant entrepreneurs in Canada.
"As a steward of governance and advocate for social progress, I view the IPF as an essential institution poised to shape the trajectory of Indigenous entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and cultural revitalization," said Jennifer.
